RULES

Dancers can enter more than one event ( for example dancers can enter solo's, pairs, small groups and Formations )

To make it fair to groups who have a lot of dancers in the same age range there will be the possibility to enter 2 sets in each category (team a. team b.)

SOLOS

All solo dancers from all competing schools, clubs, teams etc will all compete together for a one minute round, the soloists will then compete again for one minute in groups of threes before another final round with all solo dancers from all competing schools, clubs, teams dancing together for a further minute. Music will be provided by the dj. Tempo 100 – 135

The same structure will be used for the hip-hop duos and booglaloo solos/duos.

Dancers will be eliminated via rounds until a winner is found.

DUOS

See solos above.

SMALL GROUPS

Length- 2 mins group size 3 to 7 dancers

Small groups may dance to their own music (but not in the world championships) the music must be typically Hip Hop as it is currently known in the hip hop scene including break beats. Small groups may not use lifts, and can use props (although again not at the world championships).

Acrobatic movements are permitted but acrobatic movements will not always enhance dancers' scores and could even detract from the score if they are not performed in a technically correct manner.

Break dance and solo moments can be used to enhance a performance but must not dominate.

Musicality, dance variety and originality, synchronisation, together with well done and well performed stage and individual choreography will be highly evaluated. It is important to present harmony of idea, music and dance.

FORMATIONS

Length- min 2.30mins max 3 mins team size 8 to 24 dancers

See Small Groups. Lifts again are not permitted points will be deducted. It is not necessary to present any story or "show" in formation performances.
